"Made to Measure"

Very often on major construction or industrial projects, a surveyor or engineer may be faced with problems that are not easily solved by conventional commercially available products. In such circumstances a new and radical solution may have to be sought, which may require the use of special apparatus such as targets or mounting brackets. Examples of such solutions would be wall plates and demountable tables for surveying in tunnels, or special targets for aligning industrial machinery.

Over the years Holtwood have been Involved in a number of such special constructions, and for a wide variety of applications. Past clients have included the Government of Singapore, the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO), Ordnance Survey, the Ministry of Defence, British Rail, the London Underground, and a large number of contractors and consulting engineers.

Items manufactured range from simple stainless steel levelling studs to sophisticated forced-centring systems. All components are fabricated locally by one of three fabricators who we use, where we can control the quality of the production.
